Background
Suntera Global announced that it has acquired Singapore-based fund and corporate services provider Aurtus Singapore, marking a major step in the company’s international expansion. The acquisition will introduce Suntera to Singapore and reinforce the company in the Asia-Pacific market.
This is the eleventh acquisition made by Suntera since 2019, in line with the current global expansion strategy. The relocation further gives strategic depth to the network of offices and services of Suntera since Singapore is regarded as a center of finance and a tier-one jurisdiction.
Aurtus Singapore was set up in 2023 and has expanded quickly. The firm now employs 21 specialists who provide tax compliance, tax advisory, accounting and corporate secretarial services. Its clients include large multinational companies, family offices and a fast-growing number of investment funds.
The company is well known for its work with funds using Singapore’s Variable Capital Company (VCC) structure, which has become a popular choice for fund managers. Aurtus is led by its founder and managing director, Mahip Gupta, who will continue to run the business after the acquisition.
David Hudson, Chief Executive Officer of Suntera Global, said the deal is an important step in the group’s global growth strategy. He said entering Singapore strengthens Suntera’s presence in Asia and adds a strong local team with deep market knowledge and a solid client base.
Mahip Gupta said joining Suntera creates new opportunities for both staff and clients. He said Aurtus was built to meet the growing and complex needs of fund managers and global companies in Singapore. Becoming part of Suntera’s global network will allow the team to offer clients a wider range of services across different countries.
Suntera said the acquisition will help it better support clients with international needs while continuing to expand in key financial markets.
