Background :

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) has emerged as the founding training partner for the TIA-Ready framework from AutomationSG, which is the first of its kind in Singapore, aimed at enabling companies to incorporate Industrial AI safely and responsibly. This program aims to help businesses manage AI risks, ensure better governance and develop trusted AI capabilities within manufacturing, automation, and operational technology domains. 

This framework will allow organizations to introduce AI in the organization via business applications before extending the use of AI. It helps organisations assess risks, assign responsibilities and implement governance measures while preparing for future ISO/IEC 42001 certification. 

As part of the initiative, SP will launch an Industrial AI and Governance Literacy programme in October to equip students, working professionals and industry partners with the skills needed for responsible AI adoption. The institution also supported the framework’s development by working with two small and medium-sized enterprises to test its practical use in real business settings. 

Alongside the AI initiative, SP announced nine new partnerships with organisations from the manufacturing, semiconductor, automation and engineering sectors. These collaborations will create internship opportunities, industry training and skills development programmes while supporting digital transformation and regional business growth. 

One partnership with GlobalFoundries aims to train more than 2,000 employees in digital transformation. Another collaboration with Dassault Systèmes and CADVision Systems will make SP the first higher education institution in Singapore to offer the 3DEXPERIENCE Works for Startups and SOLIDWORKS SkillForce programmes, while also becoming a SOLIDWORKS Authorised Training Centre. 

The announcements were made during Automation SolutionGO! x RINC 2026, where industry leaders, educators and businesses discussed responsible AI adoption, advanced manufacturing and workforce development to support Singapore’s future industrial growth.
